Cranbrook Town Band, like many other amateur groups, has been hard hit by Covid19. As a successful organisation we rely on both our members’ subscriptions and income from concerts to provide our annual income. We use this in a number of ways, for example, we provide free tuition and instrument loans for young people in the local area and, as a result, we have developed a healthy and thriving youth section; we also support local charities – principally Demelza Hospice, which cares for terminally ill children and their families.
Sadly, Covid has prevented us from meeting and playing since March. As a result we received no income from concert venues at all in 2020 leading to a significant loss. Funding a brass band is not a cheap business and, unfortunately, 2021 is not looking any healthier. In the meantime we still have to pay for our rehearsal facilities, instrument and public liability insurance and so on. All of these costs with no offsetting income threaten the existence of the band in the longer term. In the hope that those who value the important part that the band plays in the community can help to address our financial challenges we have set up a Just Giving page.
We desperately want to be able to continue to be both part of the local scene, and to continue to support the community by bringing enjoyment for people of all ages and supporting the many local organisations who we have worked with to raise money for their causes. So, if you are able and willing to, we would love for you to donate to our cause by following this link:

Hopefully, we will be able to restart our musical and community activities at some point later in the year and, that being the case, we have plans for a major concert in aid of Demelza Hospice at the end of September/beginning of October.
In the meantime please have a look at our website for more information about the band.
