A Concert for the Parkinson’s Society
On the evening of 21 June, the band played at what is becoming its annual outdoor concert for the Parkinson’s Society. Despite severe worries about the weather during the previous few days, everything was ready and a good sized audience duly turned up. Last year the event raised £2500 for the society and this years looks to be on track for something similar.
The programme featured Fanfare and Flourishes, The Cossack, My Old Kentucky Home, What A Wonderful World and Mack The Knife to name just a few pieces and was very well received. The band played until about 9.45 when it was simply too dark to read the music anymore and ended the concert with the audience clapping along to Everybody Needs Somebody To Love.
