On Saturday 8th December the Training Band performed in public at the Hawkhurst Christmas Fair, held in the forecourt of the Royal Oak, right in the centre of the village.In spite of the rain, the event was well-attended and so the band got valuable exposure and useful experience. Playing mainly Christmas carols, the band did well in spite of the inevitable distractions of a lively village event in a crowded marquee.
Everyone who could turn out did so, and the result was a balanced ensemble.
